MID MORNING PRACTICES
Stay hydrated - sip water continuously through your day
Using a water bottle, aim to drink 6-8 cups in your day.
Our bodies are ~60% water, so even the slightest bit of dehydration can negatively affect how we function, from energy levels to digestion and even immunity.
You may well be moving around a lot today or indoors where you will naturally be losing water continuously.
Staying hydrated will also improve your body’s ability to absorb nutrients, keep your digestive system working properly and improve the condition of your skin.

Take a moment to acknowledge one of your colleagues
Find a way to build an acknowledgement into one of your conversations. What you notice about them and why its good to work with them.
Hospitality is a challenging industry and sometimes its just good to show that someone is doing good work.
Appreciating someone else creates more connection and serotonin and feel good hormones for you both. this just creates a better day.

Take two minutes to slow your breathing and be calm
We can enter a more relaxed state simply by focusing on the inhale-exhale ratio of breathing as we go about our day-to-day lives.
Breathe in for a count of 4 and out for a count of 8. Repeat five times.
Sometimes a stressful moment with a guest or a colleague can bring you down. Take these breaths. Re-centre and find presence. If you feel you have resolved that previous moment then allow yourselves to be free of it.

Gradually increase the length of your exhale, or increase the number of repetitions.
