WINTER AT HOME
This series of winter meditations has been created to support and comfort us at home, throughout the darker, colder months.
The Window, Tea and Fire sound baths were inspired by the time OPO founder Chris Connors spent in Japanese monasteries. There, he discovered stillness through meditation, and how simple acts become beautiful rituals that allow us to connect with the present state.

Our final session, The Great North, is a powerful sound bath experience inspired by Chris’ trips to Iceland, where he was mesmerised by the Aurora Borealis and the mystery of the North.

These simple guided meditations are infused with medicinal sounds that can help to ease winter-based ailments, such as congestion, fever, and headaches.

Be sure to wrap up as you journey through.

TEA

A WINTER TURMERIC TEA
Turmeric and ginger have been used for centuries for their health benefits and to spice up meals. They have powerful anti-inflammatory properties that help sooth digestion and relieve pain.

To make the turmeric ginger tea, prepare it as follows:
In a small saucepan, bring a cup of water to the boil.
Turn off the heat and add the ginger and turmeric.
Steep with the lid on for 5 minutes
(covering prevents oils and medicinal compounds escaping).
Strain, allow to cool slightly and add some honey
(excessive heat can destroy the benefits of honey).
Add the black pepper and stir well.

You will need:
1 teaspoon of freshly grated turmeric root
(or, if using dried turmeric, 1/3 teaspoon).
1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger root
(or, 1/3 teaspoon of dried ginger).
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
(to aid turmeric absorption).
Raw honey and a slice of lemon to taste.
