A TIME TO RESET AND RESTORE
A LESSON FROM OUR TIMES

As we step forward into our new daily life, two insights emerge:

Firstly, the growing importance of more meaningful, resourceful and life affirming experiences. Prioritising products and places that inspire, inform and restore our mental/emotional states to a rightful state of balance.

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, our greater appreciation for our surroundings and the natural beauty of a planet we have so often taken for granted.

There is a great amount of evidence to support that life is just better when we connect and appreciate the world around us.

A NEW APPRECIATION
A NEW APPRECIATION FOR LIFE AROUND US

STILL IN THE CITY

OPO and Universal Design Studio have teamed up to create ‘Still in the City’ for the London Festival of Architecture, 2021.

We have created an augmented digital experience based on shifting our perception of space around us through the method of eye open meditation.

As you meditate with with the built environment so your relationship changes to it. This brings a renewed sense of space and place, reactivating our relationship with the city after a year spent at home.

With a focus on well-being and self care, be guided to a selection of London’s most well-known and hidden architectural gems. Connect with each location with our location-specific meditative and architectural experiences through the OPO app.

‘Still in the City’ supports us to become more resilient, more present, more appreciative of our city life.

"A wonder! Best meditation app I have seen. A beautiful innovation based on solid science of sound and what a wonderful idea to create portals around the world that help us switch off and connect, especially in the cities but also to be present and appreciate nature."

YOUR IMMERSIVE JOURNEY

Each OPO immersive audio experience is made up of eyes-open meditations blended with wellness enhancing soundscapes.

OPO uses mindful observations techniques, and for the LFA these will guide you to rest your attention on specific architectural elements of your view. While engaging with specific breathing methods and pathways to nature connectedness.

Symmetry, visual rhythm, pattern, texture, light and shadow and natural elements will all form part of the experience.

Neuro-scientific sound frequencies and techniques stimulate brain activity to reduce stress and anxiety and support relaxation, focus, energy and motivation.

Each session is designed specifically for an on-location view and integrates evidence based techniques, blending soundscapes and guidance with the architectural language.
